Mobile advertising is becoming a driving force in brand recognition and sales. In 2012 advertisers are focusing on mobile campaigns that include more consumer engagement. They are also using location-based advertising. This is where they can target the local consumer through mobile outreach. Advertisers are also using more rich media campaigns driven by video and graphics. In 2010 banner ads had a .09% click through rate, while more rich media ads had a 1.1% rate. Advertisers are now focusing more on mobile advertising because of the mass of the potential audience and the rich media behind the ads. 2012 has the potential to make large strides in mobile advertising and bring more revenue and ROI to all parties.
